As You Lie There
Great Magnolia
I stare upwards, towards the stars;
But not quite.
And I rest my eyes upon such a beautiful Magnolia.
I study every little itsy bit of detail carved through her bark.
And I wonder why,
Why was she made with such magnificence?
And as I stare upwards, so does she.
Though unlike me, her gaze is fixed to the stars.
And she studies every detail,
And she worries about the very imperfections;
That I see as so magnificent.
And as her and I stare,
I am left to wonder who looks my way.
And what do they see in my imperfections?
And just how much can they see in this,
Great Magnolia’s reflection.

I hear you walking down the hall.
The little pitter patter of each and every step.
And I know what is to come,
A guttural roar from your chest.
So I open the door to let you in.
And as you walk in,
You see the spotlessness of my room.
And you know it’s from the restless bit of my mood.
So you take a seat for a bit.
Just a bit.
So we enjoy our time together,
Before you’ve decided I’m ok.
And you take a stretch and a step towards the door,
To let me know you’re on your way.

Lost Ray Of Moonlight
"Lost Ray Of Moonlight" is an anthology delves into the insecurities that lie within Coburn, from body, to mind, to nature.

Meat
I’m but a kid
Falling apart
And trapped
Inside of this
Vile
Sickly
Flayed
Decaying
Meat shield.
I hope to one day
No longer be a prisoner
Barred behind these bones
Hidden from the light
Of my very own flesh and meat.
Stomach
You burn like hot charcoal
Sat plump in the pit of my stomach
Wrenching out my innards to vultures
Hungry as they are;
I am devoured.
